Random Update on Stuff....in no particular order of importance:
My new obsession: RJ's Raspberry Soft Eating Licorice
http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodde.asp?SKU=586413&CCAID=FROOGLE586413
I read about it in Saveur Magazine's Top 100 issue.
Panettone is so....last year.
It's all licorice in '08!
You have to try it....I am serious! Even if you think you don't like licorice. This is no Twizzler, ladies and gentlemen. Not even in the same ballpark.
It also comes in regular black....and I'm trying to score some orange.
It also comes chocolate covered, but the plain is just fine with me.
I ordered some online, but then I was at my local Italian marketplace, and there it was.
New Zealand licorice in an Italian import store.
Who knew?
But listen, I'm warning you....you are going to freak on this!
So don't buy it all up....I still might need more.
If you're coming to the conference......I will have it with me.
The LA-Z-Boy:
I never thought I would.......especially since it's chemo furniture........but the Prisco's have gone LA-Z-Boy.
I fought it for a long time.
I didn't like the shapes of the couches.....not enough style for my taste, but we went to the LA-Z-Boy store back in October because our couch was so uncomfortable....causing back pain, and I couldn't curl up and take my chemo nap.
We ordered one.
And it FINALLY came .....nearly 3 months later.
All I can say is.........Oh, my God.
It feels so great to put my aching legs up.
We all sit on one couch: 3 pugs, 2 Non-pugs....and SNORE!
It's so great!
And I so totally don't care that it looks like really comfy bus seats.
The Turntable:
George recently picked up all of his old albums from his parent's basement.
Problem: We no longer have a turntable.
Solution: Purchased turntable that allows you to convert songs to mp3 format.
So we spent the weekend listening to Kiss, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Boston.....all with the familiar snap, crackle, pop of vinyl.
We even slow danced to some old songs.....until Chubbs started to jump up and bite (well, "gum", actually) George in the behind because she is uncomfortable with PDAs.
We're pretty sure she witnessed a lot of bad stuff in her former home.
She's scarred and toothless.
My poor Chubby!
But now she's happy as a pig (pug) in shit!
The Game Plan:
Don't know yet.
Must contemplate.
The lesser of a few evils.
George and I will figure it out by next Thursday.
Or else, we'll just be sleeping on the La-Z-Boy with the girls, listening to the new turntable and eating Raspberry Licorice.
When the album "Crush" came out in 2000, "It's My Life" had a different meaning for me. It was a call to arms, and the energy of the song fueled my fight. This new paired down version feels so right...right now.

Ok, give us the names of the old Slow Dancing songs!
We were listneing to one of those K-tel, "Best of the 70's"-type albums......and I am not ashamed to tell you, it was "Behind Closed Doors" by Charlie Rich.
But Chubbs didn't go for it.
She let us know, in no uncertain terms, that she didn't appreciate the dancing or us singing, "..oh, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors...".
She tried to take a bite of George's butt!
I need to get one of those turntable-to-mp3 things. I haven't been able to listen to my Sesame Street Christmas LP in years. They have a new version on CD, but Sesame Street just isn't the same without Mr. Hooper.
Baxter doesn't like the PDA, either. It cuts into his valuable "lick Brian's pants" time.
Love,
Jellykins
I need to know where I can buy licorice locally, otherwise I'll order. Elizabeth is a BIG twizzler fan so wanted to send as a surprise.
I'm still smiling about your la-z-boy looking like bus seat. Of course it does. And I agree you should write a book. ab
Did you know you can drink your favorite beverage out of a twizzler? Probably only works with coke which I haven't drank in years. But that is what I was taught on. How about hot chocolate?
I can tell you, but I'd have to.....come over to your house and eat it all!
raspberry......licorice? I NEED.

Whatever you decided, if the two of you did it together, than it is an awfully good game plan. Hope you are well Pixie girl.
btw, you are very, very, very missed on the board.
